Na helps you learn German by chatting and speaking with AI characters. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The short version: your conversations live on your device, nothing is used to train AI models, and there are no ads or trackers.
When you send a text or voice message, it is transmitted securely (HTTPS) to our server and passed to our AI providers — Google Gemini for the characters' replies, OpenAI for the characters' voices and for voice transcription — to generate a response.
When you speak, your recorded utterance is sent to our server for transcription so that mixed German/English is understood correctly. The audio is processed transiently to produce the text and is not stored by us.
Your conversations and your voice are never used to train AI models.
Conversation history is stored on your device so you can pick up where you left off. Our server processes messages transiently to generate replies and does not keep a copy of your conversations.
Your level (A1–C1), learning goal, streak, and preferences are stored on your device.
The app sends a random identifier (not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID) with each request so we can prevent abuse and manage server costs. It resets if you reinstall the app.
If you choose to sign in, we receive only your anonymized Apple user identifier to sync your progress. No name or email is requested.
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.

Use Profil → “Meine Daten löschen” in the app to erase everything at once — all conversations, your name, learning goal, and streak. You can also delete a single conversation with “Neu starten,” or remove the app entirely (conversations live on your device).
To unlink a Sign-in-with-Apple identifier, revoke access in Settings → Apple ID → Sign-In & Security, or contact us.
Na is not directed at children under 13.
