Every quant topic, covered

Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Data Analysis are the four areas the real GRE Quantitative Reasoning section draws from, and this tool pulls 10 random multiple-choice questions from our full practice bank for whichever one you pick — so no two rounds look the same, and you can keep coming back to the same topic without running out of fresh material.

Each question comes with a full step-by-step explanation, whether you get it right or wrong, so a missed question turns into an actual lesson instead of just a red X.

Common questions

What math is on the GRE?
The GRE Quantitative Reasoning section covers four areas: Arithmetic (percents, ratios, exponents, number properties), Algebra (equations, inequalities, functions), Geometry (angles, area, volume, coordinate geometry), and Data Analysis (statistics, probability, interpreting graphs and tables). It does not test calculus.
How many GRE Quant questions are there on the real exam?
The Quantitative Reasoning section has 27 scored questions across two 47-minute sections, plus possibly an unscored research section. Scores range from 130 to 170.
Is GRE math hard?
GRE Quant tests concepts most students learn by 10th grade, but the questions are written to be tricky under time pressure — the difficulty is usually in reasoning and pacing, not advanced math. Most people's scores improve significantly with targeted practice on their weakest topic areas.
What is a good GRE Quant score?
330+ combined (Quant + Verbal) is elite (top 2%, competitive for MIT/Stanford-level programs); 320-329 is highly competitive; 310-319 is strong for most programs; 300-309 meets the minimum for many programs. The right target depends on your specific program's average admitted score.
